Genome-wide analysis of R2R3-MYB transcription factors family in the autopolyploid Saccharum spontaneum: an exploration of dominance expression and stress response

Abstract Background Sugarcane ( Saccharum ) is the most critical sugar crop worldwide. As one of enriched transcription factor families in plants, MYB genes display a great potential to contribute sugarcane improvement by trait modification. We have identified gene family at whole-genome level through systematic evolution analyses and expression profiling. R2R3-MYB large subfamily involved many plant-specific processes. Results A total 202 (356 alleles) were polyploid spontaneum genomic sequence classified into 15 subgroups phylogenetic analysis. The had more members comparative analysis sorghum significant advantages among especially grasses. Collinearity revealed that 70% SsR2R3-MYB experienced duplication events, logically suggesting contributors expansion.
